Adam Feibish

My coach training with ICG was a singular experience that made me more present in my relationships, more grateful and resilient in general, and more effective in my mission to make a meaningful impact in the world.

Did I learn what I needed to be a powerful, world-class coach?
- Absolutely. (It's been my full-time career for over 3 years now!)

But the personal growth, community and overall quality of the experience are the real distinctions here. I could not recommend this program more highly.

Ideal Coaching Global gave me so much more than a coaching certification.

It catalyzed an innovative learning experience that radically shook and shifted my world. In addition to a passion for coaching mastery, this school ignited a fire for self-mastery.

My life now is unrecognizable from life prior to ICG. I believe this institution is easily the Harvard or Yale of coaching. When you show up fully invested and committed, possibilities are infinite.”

Into ICG's Coach Training Curriculum

Ideal Coaching Global

Philosophy

As ontological coaches, you will practice observing clients through a deeper understanding of language. Language as action. Language as creation.

Coaches listen deeply in order to enter into the reality of another human being; they are curious about what’s beneath a client’s words, communicate directly, break through limitations and reveal blindspots that open new possibilities and results.

That’s the work of a coach.

Coaching is based on the principles of observation and effectiveness.

The principle of perception is crucial as a coach. Perceiving people as capable and competent, whole and complete, allows the space for coaching to take place.

Instead of giving advice, coaches use the principle of listening. Seeking to understand rather than be understood. Deep presence allows you to see the world through your client’s eyes.

Coaches use the principle of direct communication for course correction. When a client’s blindspots are revealed, people can start to live life by design rather than by default.

Instead of holding people accountable by punishment or reward, we have people shift on the level of identity to create new results. The principle of self-awareness.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I’m very interested… but I've already looked into other schools. How is this coach training program different?

A: Ideal Coaching Global is more than just another coaching certification school. We are an academy of philosophy and language, effectiveness and communication, inquiry and expansion. We are an inclusive community, with a curriculum developed by master trainers and master coaches who are renowned thought leaders, Ph.D., philosophers and teachers versed in ontology, mindfulness, deep ecology, speech-act theory, NLP and the nature of perception.

Ontological coaching gets to the core of the background moods, assumptions, assessments, and frames of mind that establish our life possibilities. The most robust and long-term success—in one’s personal life, in one’s professional life, and in one’s emotional life—is achieved by skillfully observing and eventually questioning the ground of our self-interpretations.

We train coaches to skillfully partner with their coachees by helping them uncover life-changing insights that draw on their coachee’s own talents. This fosters a shift in the coachee’s moods, habits, and language, allowing them to cultivate wellness and fulfillment out of their own talents and competencies. Our coaches learn to navigate not only themselves, but also their coachees through their worldviews, thereby sharpening their capacity to recognize how these views are dynamic, open-ended, and therefore open to re-invention.

Some of the basic principles that distinguish our method, all of which aim at achieving maximum and long-term success for our clients, both in the goals they wish to achieve and in their natural wish to thrive and not just survive in life, are:

MINDFUL OBSERVERS: Through the ontological approach, our coaches help their coachees clarify the skills needed to deepen their observational skills. The goal is to achieve clarity in assessing the patterns and processes (and emotional, physical and intellectual habits) that shape the possibilities coachees have for acting effectively in their lives. This is part of what we mean by “mindfulness” coaching. We’ve found that these patterns are also bound up with how we relate to others. By recognizing our interdependence, and mindfully observing opportunities to enrich, enhance, or transform our roles in the flow of our dynamic relationships, we become keen navigators of our life, cultivating a community in which we can individually and collectively thrive.

“LANGUAGE-ING” A THRIVING WORLD: In a mindful and autonomous life, we not only meet our material needs, but also enhance the value, meaning, and emotional rhythm of our lives. The ontological approach recognizes that how we speak our world into being—that is, how we frame, and therefore construct our reality through language—determines the kind of lives we are going to lead. Based on this principle, we can more robustly observe the kinds of implicit commitments (or lack of commitments), promises, assessments (or ungrounded opinions) and requests (or lack of requests) that shape the outcomes of our actions, and determine the meaning and emotional tone of our lives.

AUTHORING OUR SELF-NARRATIVES: Through sharpened attention to how we act and perform our lives through language, the ontological coach facilitates their coachees to more actively contribute to crafting their emotional, physical, and intellectual life.

Overcoming the default mode of passive living, the ontological method aims to help coachees uncover what they can be sincerely committed to, thereby ensuring coachees take responsibility for their lives. By doing so, we’ve found that coachees achieve an enriched and lasting sense of care for their lives and their commitments, which, in turn, supports them in achieving their personal and professional goals.

These points just begin to scratch the surface of how ontological, ecological, and mindfulness training can transform lives. However, just these three points—when explored and practiced sincerely—can provide powerful tools for would-be coaches, coaching professionals, and thoughtful, seeking people who aim to thrive in their lives.

Q: This program sounds amazing... How long will it take to complete it?

A: The Level 1 certification program takes 6 months to complete, which will give you the ICF accredited Coaching Certification Level 1, a total of 120+ training hours.

The Level 2 certification program takes 9 months to complete, which will give you the ICF accredited Coaching Certification Level 2, a total of 297+ training hours.

Both programs have the same start dates with Level 2 continuing for another 3 months to complete a total of 297+ training hours.

Q: Am I too old / too young to participate in this program?

A: Absolutely not. If you’re young, that’s amazing. We wish we knew this stuff when we were younger. The minimum age to attend is 18 years, because of some of the themes and techniques being covered during the program.

If you think you’re too old, we couldn’t disagree more. Age is just a number and you can change your inner-world and make your impact on the greater world out there starting anytime.

When the program is explored and practiced sincerely— it can provide powerful tools for would-be coaches, coaching professionals, and thoughtful, seeking people who aim to thrive in their lives.

Our commitment and offer to you:
- You will develop your skills for observing the “ontology” of yourself and your clients.
- You will find yourself taking new actions and inventing a more fulfilling life.
- You will be able to produce subtle, yet deeper shifts in your coachee’s “way of being.”
- You will learn how language is more than meaningful symbols and rules of grammar—language shapes reality, and through language, we invent our lives.
- You will learn how to maintain a centered presence and be more relaxed in your own body.

Q: Should I enroll for this program alone or with my partner?

A: If your partner is happy to participate, you'll both get a lot more out of it by attending together.

But it is important to each to have a one-on-one discovery call with one of our seasoned coaches in order to clarify your motivations and desired outcomes from joining. It is a beautiful journey to share with a life or business partner.

Q: What is the enrollment process?

A: Enrolling is very easy. We know it can be hard to know, for sure, that Coaching For Excellence is the right fit for you from the "outside". So, to help you see the program from the "inside" all you need to invest to get started is a $97 deposit.

Then you'll book in for a 1:1 "Coaching Vision Planning Session" (value: $500) with one of our expert coaches, to help you explore your dreams as a Certified Coach, and figure out what you'll need to do to build a successful coaching business. Then we'll put a step-by-step plan in place to help you get there.

Next you'll complete the short online CFE application, which should take roughly 5 to 10 minutes.

After you've paid your initial $97, you'll have 30 days to pay the balance of your deposit to fully secure your place in the program, which is $400. If at any time during those 30 days you don't feel that CFE is the right fit for you, you're free to walk away - no questions asked - with zero further obligations or payments required. That's our "Love It Or Leave It" guarantee.

Once your full deposit ($97 + $400) has been paid, our finance manager will reach out to you to discuss an easy payment plan for the balance of your tuition, which will suit your needs and budget.

Mark your calendar: Our next program starts October 18th 2024.

You will also receive your welcome pack with all the details, syllabus, curriculum and information you need to get started.

Q: Why is it important that your coaching school has a Level 1 & Level 2 accreditation by the International Coach Federation?

A: The ICF ensures high standards in the coaching profession. Those high standards start with accredited providers such as Ideal Coaching Global where you will obtain coach-specific education aligned with the ICF definition of coaching, ICF Core Competencies and ICF Code of Ethics plus much, much more. We believe the better the education offerings are, the better the coaches will be.

ICG Certified coaches who go on to become ICF-credentialed coaches are professionals who have met stringent education and experience requirements, and have demonstrated a thorough understanding of the coaching competencies that set the standard in the profession.

Additionally, they adhere to strict ethical guidelines as part of ICF’s mission to protect and serve coaching consumers.

Q: What is Ontological Coaching exactly?

At ICG, our purpose is to cultivate and nurture transformative change through ontological, ecological, and mindfulness coaching.

Coaching through ontology means coaching “ways of being” by cultivating a nuanced understanding of the dominant cultural memes, and the underlying, non-linear and holistic processes that shape our world.

By “world” we mean a cultural-biological and linguistic space articulated through meaningful relationships, self-interpretations, lifestyles, values, and changing patterns of cohabitation.

What we do, what we think, and how we think, is conditioned by the linguistic, ecological, and cultural space in which we find ourselves.

Some Key Concepts:

- Ontology is the study of the dynamic and ever-changing conditions that make a culturally-ecologically bound space meaningful and ripe with possibilities.

- “World” is not a noun, and it’s not just “reality.”

- We are always “world-ing” and producing meaning and possibilities for action, either passively or actively.

- We want to enhance our active participation in shaping a world.

Coaching facilitates transformation in the paradigms we use to organize our lives and our values by tapping into our natural capacities and assets, while locating our ineffective habits and strategies.

Q: When does the program start?
