A: Ideal Coaching Global is more than just another coaching certification school. We are an academy of philosophy and language, effectiveness and communication, inquiry and expansion. We are an inclusive community, with a curriculum developed by master trainers and master coaches who are renowned thought leaders, Ph.D., philosophers and teachers versed in ontology, mindfulness, deep ecology, speech-act theory, NLP and the nature of perception.

Ontological coaching gets to the core of the background moods, assumptions, assessments, and frames of mind that establish our life possibilities. The most robust and long-term success—in one’s personal life, in one’s professional life, and in one’s emotional life—is achieved by skillfully observing and eventually questioning the ground of our self-interpretations.

We train coaches to skillfully partner with their coachees by helping them uncover life-changing insights that draw on their coachee’s own talents. This fosters a shift in the coachee’s moods, habits, and language, allowing them to cultivate wellness and fulfillment out of their own talents and competencies. Our coaches learn to navigate not only themselves, but also their coachees through their worldviews, thereby sharpening their capacity to recognize how these views are dynamic, open-ended, and therefore open to re-invention.

Some of the basic principles that distinguish our method, all of which aim at achieving maximum and long-term success for our clients, both in the goals they wish to achieve and in their natural wish to thrive and not just survive in life, are:

MINDFUL OBSERVERS: Through the ontological approach, our coaches help their coachees clarify the skills needed to deepen their observational skills. The goal is to achieve clarity in assessing the patterns and processes (and emotional, physical and intellectual habits) that shape the possibilities coachees have for acting effectively in their lives. This is part of what we mean by “mindfulness” coaching. We’ve found that these patterns are also bound up with how we relate to others. By recognizing our interdependence, and mindfully observing opportunities to enrich, enhance, or transform our roles in the flow of our dynamic relationships, we become keen navigators of our life, cultivating a community in which we can individually and collectively thrive.

“LANGUAGE-ING” A THRIVING WORLD: In a mindful and autonomous life, we not only meet our material needs, but also enhance the value, meaning, and emotional rhythm of our lives. The ontological approach recognizes that how we speak our world into being—that is, how we frame, and therefore construct our reality through language—determines the kind of lives we are going to lead. Based on this principle, we can more robustly observe the kinds of implicit commitments (or lack of commitments), promises, assessments (or ungrounded opinions) and requests (or lack of requests) that shape the outcomes of our actions, and determine the meaning and emotional tone of our lives.

AUTHORING OUR SELF-NARRATIVES: Through sharpened attention to how we act and perform our lives through language, the ontological coach facilitates their coachees to more actively contribute to crafting their emotional, physical, and intellectual life.

Overcoming the default mode of passive living, the ontological method aims to help coachees uncover what they can be sincerely committed to, thereby ensuring coachees take responsibility for their lives. By doing so, we’ve found that coachees achieve an enriched and lasting sense of care for their lives and their commitments, which, in turn, supports them in achieving their personal and professional goals.

These points just begin to scratch the surface of how ontological, ecological, and mindfulness training can transform lives. However, just these three points—when explored and practiced sincerely—can provide powerful tools for would-be coaches, coaching professionals, and thoughtful, seeking people who aim to thrive in their lives. 

A: The Level 1 certification program takes 6 months to complete, which will give you the ICF accredited Coaching Certification Level 1, a total of 120+ training hours.

The Level 2 certification program takes 9 months to complete, which will give you the ICF accredited Coaching Certification Level 2, a total of 297+ training hours.

Both programs have the same start dates with Level 2 continuing for another 3 months to complete a total of 297+ training hours.

A: Absolutely not. If you’re young, that’s amazing. We wish we knew this stuff when we were younger. The minimum age to attend is 18 years, because of some of the themes and techniques being covered during the program.

If you think you’re too old, we couldn’t disagree more. Age is just a number and you can change your inner-world and make your impact on the greater world out there starting anytime.

When the program is explored and practiced sincerely— it can provide powerful tools for would-be coaches, coaching professionals, and thoughtful, seeking people who aim to thrive in their lives.

A: The ICF ensures high standards in the coaching profession. Those high standards start with accredited providers such as Ideal Coaching Global where you will obtain coach-specific education aligned with the ICF definition of coaching, ICF Core Competencies and ICF Code of Ethics plus much, much more. We believe the better the education offerings are, the better the coaches will be. 

ICG Certified coaches who go on to become ICF-credentialed coaches are professionals who have met stringent education and experience requirements, and have demonstrated a thorough understanding of the coaching competencies that set the standard in the profession.

A: Earning an ICF Credential is a big step toward achieving your goals as a professional coach practitioner. Though there are many steps in this process and ICG is your first step.

1. Education - Obtain coach-specific education aligned with the ICF definition of coaching, ICF Core Competencies and ICF Code of Ethics through our acclaimed accredited coaching certification academy, ICG.

2. Experience - Coaching experience hours throughout and post our Level 1 or Level 2 coaching education program.

3. Mentor Coaching - You will receive mentor coaching to strengthen your skills within the ICF Core Competencies. ICG goes beyond the requirements to ensure our coaching students are knowledgeable, are building their professional coaching skills while advancing their learning to prepare them for their ICF Credential Exam.

4. Performance Evaluation - Pass a performance evaluation(s) that assess your coaching skills against ICF standards. ICG’s staff of certified mentors who have been rigorously trained in the ICF PCC markers, will support and guide you in the embodiment of ACC/PCC coaching.

5. Exam - ICG will train and prepare you to pass a written exam designed to test your understanding of and ability to apply the ICF definition of coaching, ICF Core Competencies and ICF Code of Ethics.

Earning an ICF Credential is a rigorous process that provides legitimacy and credibility to Credential-holders and ICG is here to help you attain the skills, gain certification and navigate the credentialing process.

- Ontology is the study of the dynamic and ever-changing conditions that make a culturally-ecologically bound space meaningful and ripe with possibilities.

- “World” is not a noun, and it’s not just “reality.”

- We are always “world-ing” and producing meaning and possibilities for action, either passively or actively.

- We want to enhance our active participation in shaping a world.

Coaching facilitates transformation in the paradigms we use to organize our lives and our values by tapping into our natural capacities and assets, while locating our ineffective habits and strategies.

The "live" aspect of our training and sessions meets the requirements set by the ICF for our students to qualify for the coaching certification and ICF credential.

As such, attendance to all training sessions is mandatory and tracked by your Master Coaches & Trainers.
