Through ICG’s unique methodology, our students become highly perceptive and successful coaches; transforming themselves alongside their communities.

“Everyone is already a genius, but you have to practice to bring it forth.”

Experience our method in action with a coaching demonstration from a master coach, while learning more about what makes our school unique.

As ontological coaches, you will practice observing clients through a deeper understanding of language. Language as action. Language as creation.

Coaches listen deeply in order to enter into the reality of another human being; they are curious about what’s beneath a client’s words, communicate directly, break through limitations and reveal blindspots that open new possibilities and results.

That’s the work of a coach.

Coaching is based on the principles of observation and effectiveness.

  • The principle of perception is crucial as a coach. Perceiving people as capable and competent, whole and complete, allows the space for coaching to take place.
  • Instead of giving advice, coaches use the principle of listening. Seeking to understand rather than be understood. Deep presence allows you to see the world through your client’s eyes.
  • Coaches use the principle of direct communication for course correction. When a client’s blindspots are revealed, people can start to live life by design rather than by default.
  • Instead of holding people accountable by punishment or reward, we have people shift on the level of identity to create new results. The principle of self-awareness.

The Method: O.M.E.: ONTOLOGY – MINDFULNESS – ECOLOGY

“Ontology” refers to the study of who we are actually being in the world, that is, our practices and linguistic habits that shape the possibilities for our lives. Ontological training empowers us to transform these socially-constructed paradigms and sharpens our capacity to see that what we do, what we think, and how we live is conditioned by the linguistic, ecological, and cultural space we’ve embodied.

By adeptly understanding the linguistic patterns and habits that shape this embodiment—the “speech-actions” that condition our possibilities in life— we directly shape the world in which we live, and empower ourselves to invent a reality that is meaningful, purpose-driven, fulfilling, and socially transformative.

What makes our coaching school unique?

Intimate Settings with Master Coaches

ICG was developed from the work of international thought-leaders, Bettie J. Spruill and Ana Escalante, MCC. Together they created an ideal setting for students to embody the profound practice of coaching. With small, intimate classes, ICG utilizes both virtual and in-person learning sessions throughout the nine-month program. Our faculty includes an array of masterful coaches, trainers, mentors, and business leaders.

Diversity and Depth

Our aim is to give the power of coaching to as many people as we possibly can. Hence, our school is competitively lower in tuition than comparable schools. Our non-profit, One and All, is dedicated to raising partial scholarships for teachers, police officers, military and service people. We also have a conscientious application process for new students applying from all over the world. Diverse teams give a depth to our program that you will find influential to the learning process.

Experiential Learning through Embodied Practices

When you are able to embody what you learn, you begin the path of mastery. At ICG, you will do much more than learn how to coach. You will embody the practices and the mindset that allow you to become masterful in navigating the world. You will develop the necessary tools to create lasting change for yourself and your clients. Your general practices for the duration of the nine-month program will include; 75 coaching sessions (including 55 with paid clients,) receiving mentoring, mindfulness meditations, journaling, exercise, and new practice of your choosing.

Build a Successful and Meaningful Coaching Practice

Our mission is to certify coaches that will go out and use their competencies to make a larger impact in the world. Hence, we are one of the few schools that offers in-depth business consulting and coaching to better equip our students in creating a viable business that is also in contribution to society. During the program, you will have webinars and one-on-one calls with ICG’s Director of Business Development and Trainer, Kyla Walstad, PCC.
